A pro football player’s son gives his father an unforgettable Christmas.

All I Want For Christmas Is… TractYou’ve heard the country and western song “Daddy Please Don’t Get Drunk This Christmas?” Well, that idea really hit home to John Bramlett, former Memphis State and All-Pro linebacker.

Between the turbulent days and nights spent drinking and fighting, John played pro football for the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and Atlanta Falcons. He was once designated the “meanest man in professional football.”

John underwent a drastic change when he asked Jesus to come into his heart and take charge of his life. (John 1:12)
No Christmas present will ever be as memorable as the one John received from an eighth grade teacher at Towering Oaks School where his son Don went to school. She told the class to write a paragraph on the theme “All I Want For Christmas Is….” Don wrote:

All I want for Christmas is for my family and me to have a very Merry Christmas like the other two Christmases we’ve had. My dad was out drinking and fighting three years ago and we were all worrying about him and wondering when he would come back. While opening our presents, we were so miserable through those years. Now we have a happy and merry Christmas after my daddy accepted Jesus in his heart and we have a lot to be thankful for. This is all I want for Christmas and I’ve got it.

Do you have a son or daughter…or wife…who doesn’t look forward to Christmas like others do because she knows you spend every Christmas drunk? You can change all this. Just invite Jesus into your heart. Give him the ball, and let him take charge of your life. Just humbly and sincerely say this simple prayer.

‘Lord Jesus, come into my life. Forgive my sins. Show me your purpose for my life. Give me your peace and power that I may please and honor you. Amen.’

Ask Jesus to come into your life today. What a Christmas you’ll have! Someone in your family may even come to you and say, “This is the best Christmas we’ve ever had.”

The gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. That’s the greatest present you could ever receive. And isn’t that what Christmas is really all about?

Rom. 6:23: ‘For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.’

I prayed this prayer in 1973 in my office and Jesus Christ came into my life. I repented of my sins and the Lord Jesus made a Daddy, husband and a complete new person out of me. (II Cor 5:17)

The desire for alcohol has been replaced with a more meaningful and peaceful life, a life of service to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus.
